A Letter from Bo…

For as long as I can remember, stories have been a part of who I am.

In 2005, two twins named Reggie and Ryssa walked into my imagination and refused to leave. What began as a story about a brother and sister discovering a hidden world of magic slowly became something much larger—a journey of friendship, family, courage, loss, and finding where you belong.

When the first two books were published, I believed I knew exactly where their story was headed.

Life, however, had other plans.

Over the years that followed, I found myself facing challenges I never expected. Illness, exhaustion, brain fog, depression, and the quiet heartbreak of feeling disconnected from the creative voice that had always been such a central part of my life. There were days when writing felt impossible. Days when simply making it through was enough.

The stories never truly left me, but for a long time I couldn’t reach them.

What surprised me most during those years was that you never stopped reaching back.

Through emails, messages, reviews, conversations, and unexpected notes from readers, people continued to ask about Reggie and Ryssa. They wanted to know what happened next. They wanted to know how the journey ended. Some of you waited patiently for years. Others found the books later and asked the very same question.

You may never know how much those messages meant.

Every note was a reminder that these characters had found a home beyond my imagination. Every question about the twins’ future was a reminder that the stories still mattered. During times when I doubted myself, your belief in them helped me hold on to mine.

Little by little, something remarkable happened.

The voice I thought I had lost began to return.

Not the same voice.

A new one.

Stronger. Wiser. Shaped by everything that had happened in the years between.

Like Team Phoenix’s motto says:

From Ashes We Rise.

The more I returned to New Faery, the more I realized that the themes I had written into the books years ago were the same themes guiding me home. Resilience. Hope. Found family. Choosing to stand back up after life knocks you down.

Reggie and Ryssa had been waiting patiently for me.

So had all of you.

This website, these new editions, the artwork, the worldbuilding, and the books still to come are all part of that return. Not just a return to writing, but a return to a part of myself I feared might be gone forever.

If you’ve been here since the beginning, thank you for waiting.

If you’re discovering New Faery for the first time, welcome.

And if you’ve ever sent a message, left a review, recommended the books to a friend, or simply wondered what became of two twins and a summer camp hidden beyond the mists, please know this:

You helped bring me back.

The gates of New Faery are open once more, and I am grateful beyond words to walk through them with you.

With love and gratitude,

Bo Savino
